National Bell Tolling Since 2018

Bells of Peace marks a National U.S. remembrance initiated on November 11, 2018, to honor the WWI Armistice on its 100th anniversary. Ever since, the Doughboy Foundation has promoted the annual remembrance with tens of thousands having rung the Bells of Peace  at 11am on Veterans Day, to salute all Americans who served their nation in both conflict and times of peace.

This year we honor The Hello Girls

The Hello Girls

This year's ceremony will recognize the Hello Girls: 217 bilingual women who served as WWI U.S. Army Signal Corps switchboard operators in WWI. Despite their service, including at Headquarters and the front, sufffering both death and injury, they were denied veteran status and promised benefits until 1977.
The WWI Centennial Commission and the Doughboy Foundation unanimously recommends them for a Congressional Gold Medal.
